    • Diesel electronic engine control system performance tests: Check for stored fault codes. Monitor data stream parameters. Check fuel supply and delivery systems. Check glow plug/intake heater system as equipped. Perform pinpoint tests for listed fault codes. Codes: P0401 00 EGR flow insufficient. During road test mass air flow sensor (MAF) reporting high. Checked air filter, no concerns. Removed MAF and cleaned, cleared code and road tested. Code did not return. Recommend replacing EGR valve, EGR cooler, fuel rail pressure sensor and relief valve.
    • Removed all parts necessary to access EGR cooler. Removed and replaced EGR valve and cooler. Removed and replaced rail pressure sensor and relief valve. Installed new gaskets. Re installed all parts. Road tested and checked for leaks. Noted during test drive that motor has intermittent squeak/ chirp coming from serpentine belt area, possible alternator bearing. Further diagnostics would be needed.

    Services Performed
    • Inspected for coolant leak. Found heater hose connector cracked and leaking. No other coolant leaks found. Recommend replacing both heater hoses due to cracks & time/ mileage.
    • Inspection found main shaft and collar had excess wear leading to binding. Both items replaced and transfer case re assembled. Re inspected shift function, when shifting from 2wd to 4wd while under load audible noise/ clunk. Referred to Gear Works for further evaluation.
    • Removed all parts necessary to access heater hoses. Removed both heater hoses. Installed new heater hoses. Re installed all parts. Add coolant to appropriate levels as recommended. Road tested and checked for leaks.
    • Removed transfer case. Removed shift motor & 4wd actuator. Re installed transfer case. Sent to gear works for continued diagnostics/ rebuild.
    • Sent to Gear Works. Replaced main shaft, hub and snap ring for P263. Inv # 0673298

    • Drop transfer case from truck. Clean housing, Disassemble case and install new rear case half with pump support bracket and new rear output seal. Road tested and checked for leaks.
    • Removed failing engine oil cooler hoses. Installed new cooler hoses. Cleaned work area. Road tested and checked for leaks.
    • Removed failing power steering pump. Installed new power steering pump. Added fluids to recommended levels. Cleaned work area. Road tested and checked for leaks.
    • Replace rear brake pads and rotors. Replace brake calipers and slide mechanisms. Replaced left rear axle seal due to leak. Check and fill brake fluid. Bleed air from system. Road test vehicle.

    • Inspection found that coolant leak was due to faulty hose clamps on aftermarket upper radiator hose. Coolant leaked onto wiring harness causing running concerns until warm up complete. Removed the existing hose clamps, cleaned thermostat metal and re installed hose with new clamps, topped off coolant. While road testing, noted that temperature 185 stayed constant, possible thermostat concerns.
    • Checked codes P0401 and P0404 for EGR open and flow insufficient; P0670 glow plug control module. Tested injector balance rates, provided copy. No smoke noted on test drive.

    • Coolant leak?
    • Remove starter to lock down flywheel, Remove accessories at front of motor and lower crankshaft pulley. Remove water pump and housing. Install new water pump and housing. Remove the thermostat housing and cross tube. Remove existing thermostats and install new components. Reassemble all components and refill cooling system. Test drive to confirm proper thermostat and water pump operation and to bleed air from cooling system.
    • Installed customer supplied radiator hoses and clamps
    • When renewing the water pump the belt tensioner and pulleys were inspected showing excess wear. CComponents were replaced at this time.
    • Renew fuel filter and transfer sensor. Bleed system and check for leaks
    • Change engine oil and filter. Lube chassis. Visually inspect steering, suspension, exhaust, brakes and cooling systems. Check all fluid levels and add as necessary. Inspect condition of drive belts and hoses. Check all exterior lighting. Reset maintenance reminder if applicable.
    • Remove rear driveline and associated hardware. Remove the failed rear output seal. Clean mating area and install a new GM Seal. Re-Install the rear driveline and test drive to confirm proper leak free operation
    • Power steering pressure hose leaking, Hydrobooster to pump.

    • Jumped and then pulled codes. Missfire code and many others. Cleared and rechecked due to many unrelated and possibly set by low voltage. 1 code was set. P0121 for MAF. Cleaned MAF sensor and drove. Vehicle will run but seems sluggish off idle. Pulled plug and they are worn. Due for tune up and then recheck. Replaced battery as the
    • Removed and replaced plugs and wires. Rechecked and all operations. Drove and confirmed throttle response is normal and no codes reset.
    • Replace front brake pad linings and machine or replace front brake disc rotors (as listed). Clean and lubricate brake calipers and slide mechanisms. Check and fill brake fluid. Bleed air from system. Road test vehicle.
